A Forum for Films Made with the Vidster

Welcome all to Vidster Flicks! The intention of this site is to celebrate the creative spirit engendered by the inexpensive and easy to use Vidster video camera made by Mattel. The Vidster is intended as a low-cost child's video camera, but like its predecessor, the Fisher Price PXL-2000, it is destined to inspire a new generation of avant garde film makers, eager to create movies in a format unlike any other.

Recently, I searched the Internet, hoping to find some films made with the Vidster, but was disappointed to find not one. This seemed unusual considering that the Vidster seems to have sold out of most stores before Christmas of 2005. As of January 11, 2006, a check of various major department and electronics stores still yields, at best, notes indicating that the Vidster is not in stock at present although some can be found for sale on eBay. It appears to have been a wild success, yet there seem to be no websites featuring films made with the Vidster.

I invite all aspiring Vidster filmmakers to write to me at: pinecone@cfl.rr.com and send links to your sites where you have posted your films made with the Vidster camera. I will not be posting the actual films here (other than my own) since bandwidth is restricted on this free Tripod site, but rather Vidster Flicks will feature links to those films brought to my intention. Please include a brief bio about yourself along with the title of your film, a synopsis, and a few sample still frames.

I look forward to hearing from all of you, my fellow film makers, and I will post my own work here as it is completed.
